Bigil (transl. Whistle) is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language sports movie composed and directed by Atlee Kumar and delivered by Kalpathi S. Aghoram under the standard AGS Entertainment. The film stars Vijay in double lead jobs as Michael, a mobster and previous footballer and Rayappan, a hoodlum and Michael's dad, nearby Nayanthara, Jackie Shroff, Vivek and Kathir in other unmistakable roles. The film follows Michael, a mobster and a previous footballer who chooses to mentor a ladies' football crew when their mentor gets assaulted. Michael faces difficulties when his group doesn't help out him because of his fierce foundation and furthermore winds up chased by certain opponents who need vengeance.

The film was formally reported on 14 November 2018, under its working title Thalapathy 63. This film denoted the third joint effort of Vijay and Atlee, after Theri and Mersal. Head photography for this film started on 21 January 2019, at Chennai and finished on 10 August. The film's title Bigil, was declared on 22 June 2019, alongside the primary look poster. The film has music created by A. R. Rahman, with cinematography dealt with by G. K. Vishnu and altering done by Ruben.

Bigil Release Date

Bigil was release all the while in Tamil and Telugu (named Whistle) on 25 October 2019, two days in front of the Diwali celebration, which falls on 27 October 2019. The Central Board of Film Certification, gave U/An endorsement to the film, with a runtime of 179 minutes (2 hours, 59 minutes), which was affirmed by Archana Kalpathi, the film's innovative maker on Twitter.

The film discharged on 4200 screens around the world, with 700 screens in Tamil Nadu, 400 screens in Karnataka, 300 screens in Kerala and 200 screens in North India, and rest of the territories. It is the main Tamil film to discharge in IMAX screens.

Business Today stated that Bigil has collected a total of ₹300 crore worldwide, while Firstpost stated a gross of ₹285 crore. The film's Tamil Nadu theatrical distribution rights were sold at ₹80 crore[106] and it has grossed ₹143 crore in Tamil Nadu after four weeks. In three weeks, the film had collected ₹13 crore from Chennai alone. Bigil collected US$1 million at U.S box office, Vijay's fourth film to do so. The film has performed very well in Delhi and Mumbai, with sold-out shows at most locations in Mumbai the first week. As of 6 November 2019, Bigil has collected $11.5 million in overseas territories. The film earned more than 33,000 entries in France, overtaking Mersal and Enthiran. The film also earned GBP 588,234 in United Kingdom surpassing highest Mersal which earned GBP 560,858. In first six days, the film has reported to have earned $2 million in Malaysia.
